Workshop: Charleston 101

Learn the dance that eventually became the Lindy Hop! Charleston is an African American vernacular jazz dance. It was done to both Ragtime and Traditional Jazz music that embodied quick, syncopated rhythms and improvised steps taken from several African dances. Students will learned the partnered form of Charleston, as well as several moves and stylings.

Prerequisites: Comfortable doing 6-count Lindy Hop basics.

Take the Charleston Workshop from 7:30-9:00pm, then dance the night away from 9:00-11:30pm. Workshop topics rotate each month.
